 1 cup water
 ½ cup milk (2%, if using 1% you can increase the milk to 1cup and if you are using whole milk make it 1/4 cup)
 1 tsp Sugar or or according to taste
 1 tsp tea leaf or 1 teabag
 grated ginger (1 inch)

Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan over high heat. Reduce the heat to medium, and stir in the tea bags or leafs, sugar, ginger and milk and bring back to a boil for one or two minute.

Remove from the heat, strain into cups, and serve hot with cookies or toast.
